- Richard Lee was named vice provost of the Division
of Educational Outreach. He has spent 25 years in higher education,
most recently as the Jones Distinguished
University Professor, an endowed chair in the Teachers College at
Emporia State University in Kansas.
- Edward Shoben, dean of College
of Liberal Arts, came to UNLV from the University
of Illinois, where he had taught since 1974 and was head of the
psychology department from 1995 until 2003.
- Carolyn Yucha was named dean of the School of
Nursing. Previously, she was
associate dean for research in the College of Nursing at the University
of Florida.
- Campus police officer Richard Dohme received an award
of merit from the
International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators
during its
annual conference in Ottawa, Canada.
- Colleen Peterson of the counseling
department is chair-elect of the Family Therapy
Section of the National Council on Family Relations. The council
links family research, education, and practice.
