Howie Basuk, ’80 BS Business Administration, is founder and president of Barry Metals Co., a scrap metal recycling company located in Phoenix since 1988. In 2000, the operation expanded into Mexico under the name Barry Metals International. He named the company after his brother, who died of leukemia. He enjoys working out, playing golf, and returning to Las Vegas for UNLV events.
Mike Masterson, ’84 BS Hotel Administration, is president of ISOTECH Pest Management, a Los Angeles commercial pest management company specializing in the hospitality industry. He also is the inventor and manufacturer of the Termiscope, an early warning system for detecting subterranean termites. He and his wife of 18 years, Roberta, are the parents of Sean and Ashtyn. They live in Covina.
Bruce Ford, ’86 BS Business Administration, recently was hired by Community Bancorp as executive vice president and chief credit officer for its wholly owned subsidiary, Community Bank of Nevada. He oversees the growth of loan production throughout the bank and provides direction to the loan officers. He has more than 21 years of banking experience and previously served as the senior regional credit officer for Wells Fargo Bank.
Douglas Osborne, ’86 BA Hotel Administration, owns the Tailspin Bar and Grill in Las Vegas.
Kirk Cresto, ’88 BS Business Administration, has worked for Sierra Pacific Resources and its Nevada Power subsidiary since 1994. He is now director of risk control for all of Sierra Pacific Resources. Previously, he served as the business unit controller for Nevada Power and as the chief administrative officer of Sierra Pacific. He is a 2003 graduate of the Leadership Las Vegas program. He and his wife, Janina, have five children. Their oldest son, Bryce, is a freshman at UNLV.
Suzanne Gradisher, ’88 BS Business Administration, is a lawyer with the firm Amer Cunningham in Akron, Ohio. She practices in the areas of individual and corporate tax law; business and corporate law; wills, trusts and estate planning; probate; and real estate. A certified public accountant, she earned her law and master of taxation degrees from the University of Akron and her MBA from Kent State University.
Bryan K. Scott, ’88 BS Business Administration, was elected president of the Clark County Bar Association in January. He is the first African- American elected to that position in the association’s 50-year history. An attorney for 14 years, he has spent the past eight years as a Las Vegas deputy city attorney involved with land-use law and litigation.
Charles Conti, ’89 BS Business Administration, is a Realtor at Coldwell Banker Wardley Real Estate in Henderson.
Susan Gieck Trautmann, ’89 BS Business Administration, ’01 J.D., works as legal counsel for Nevada Power Co. She was a member of the first graduating class of UNLV’s William S. Boyd School of Law.
