1980s

Chuck Weinberger, '83 BS Business Administration, is a 21-year commercial real estate broker with Award Commercial Properties in San Diego. He represents buyers and sellers of multifamily, office, retail, industrial, warehouse, tenants-in-common, and triple-net properties. A certified commercial investment member (CCIM) of the CCIM Institute, he owns the website uscommercialbrokerage.com.

Eric Mackler, '84 BS Hotel Administration, has been general manager of the Hampton Inn Phoenix-Midtown for the past eight years. Before that he served as general manager of the Hampton Inn Mesa (Ariz.) for six years. He and his wife, Maliwan, enjoy traveling and fishing. They live in Gilbert.

John Fountain Jr., '85 MS Computer Science, is vice president of technology for Cox Communications' Cox Business Services in Las Vegas. The division is responsible for all commercial services to local hotels and businesses. He is chair of UNLV's Electrical Engineering Community Advisory Board, interim chair of UNLV's School of Computer Science Industry Advisory Board, and a member of the MIS Executive Advisory Board. He and Tammy L. Howard have been married 21 years and have two sons, Jonathon, 15, and Nicholas, 11.

Bonnie Tell Lally, '85 BS Hotel Administration, '99 M.Ed., started a construction company, Lally Steel Inc., with her husband more than two years ago. The company is a steel-erection subcontractor. She previously worked in the hospitality industry for Marriott Hotels, Bally's, the Marina, and the MGM. She also has taught high school and worked in public relations with her sister. She has three children, Jessica, Michael, and David.

Gabriele Lawrence, '85 BS Hotel Administration, joined KSL Resorts as senior project manager/owner's representative in July. She currently is in charge of the $30 million renovation of the Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

Robert Powers, '87 BS Hotel Administration, has purchased Maddie's Sail Loft Restaurant and Bar in Marblehead, Mass. It is an historic landmark restaurant. He has been married for 14 years to Vita and has two children, Erik and Jordan.

Marcus Threats, '87 BS Hotel Administration, '99 MBA, is working on his law degree at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law. He recently served two years as chair of the Harrah Hotel College Alumni Board of Directors and also was a founding member of the board. He lives in San Diego.

Mary Beth Cutshall, '88 BS Hotel Administration, is director of contract services for Hotel Equities. She secures third-party management contracts and services the needs of investors and owners who hire the company. She also continues to serve as director of sales for the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott-Buckhead. She enjoys playing tennis, cooking, and traveling. She and her two children, Isabella and Dominic, live in the Virginia- Highlands area of Atlanta.

Ted Williams, '88 BS Business Administration, was promoted to logistics manager for plumbing/HVAC at Cerro Flow Products Inc., where he has worked for three years. He coaches children's soccer, basketball, baseball, and softball teams. He and his wife, Leslie, have been married 17 years and have three children, Jessica, 14, Sam, 11, and Erin, 9. They live in St. Louis.ve in St. Louis.
